FAMILY COUNTS----I am one of four siblings, all graduates of Louisville High school. I was the only girl and absolutely not spoiled a bit! I am also the proud mother of two children. Both began here as Kindergarteners and loved their life at this school. For the size of the school, a nice variety of activities, clubs, and sports are available.
EDUCATION COUNTS----Graduating from Louisville High School, I believe I got a good start on my education. That was a while ago, and please don't ask how long! (The pictures on the walls will give that away, if you have the time to look.) I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education. I recently earned my Masters degree in Reading and English Language Learning for grades K - 12. My teaching experiences took me to three different areas of the state of Nebraska. My current position is as the K - 12 Life Skills teacher.

LIFE SKILLS COUNT----What does a Life Skills teacher do? Well, pretty much what you would expect. With the assistance of two full-time paraprofessionals, we work on ACADEMICS, SOCIAL SKILLS, DAILY LIVING SKILLS, COMMUNICATION, INDEPENDENCE/SELF-CARE, REAL-WORLD PROBLEM-SOLVING. It's true that we are tired at the end of the day, but we also feel so lucky to do what we love.
STUDENTS COUNT----At the risk of sounding corny (and shamelessly using my last name), I consider myself to be a kind of gardener. ***My students require careful tending. ***It may take a while to see a sprout, but one always comes up.***They may grow at different rates, but they always bloom.***Each one of them produces something needed. ***No matter how much they learn from me, I learn even more from them. ***
